I really like the point about consensus -- that given it&#039;s a consensus hire, nobody in the loop has any reason but to want the new hire to be successful, and will go out of their way to make it so. The opposite could be disastrous. Also, to push the last point further, do you think it should be required that at least one of the interviewer be willing to step up and be a champion for the candidate? This would presumably push the interviewers to try to decide there is really something special about this person, on top of just being &quot;good enough&quot;?</description>
