The goal of “Earned Lessons” is to share information that people can use to make their companies better. These lessons come from the experiences that I have had as I transitioned from an individual contributor, to a manager, to an executive.

To that end I will try to keep the focus of this blog constrained to the things that I think make for a successful company.

  • Customer Joy — Customers are the lifeblood of a company. The more you create joyful experiences the more you are likely to grow.
  • Team Success — Your teams should be given the support to make them successful. Where resources are difficult to come by they should be capable of creating alternatives that makes the company succeed.
